Eloro Home Candles

The vessel arrives first. Eloro candles come in custom tulip-shaped glass, a form the brand's founders, both trained in fashion and the arts, designed to function as a decorative object once the candle burns down. There is a deliberateness to that choice that runs through everything: the fragrance is hand-poured at Casa Eloro, the brand's studio in Santa Monica, in small batches using a soy-vegetable wax blend and European-sourced cotton wicks. Single-wick candles burn for 50 hours.

Three scent territories define the Eloro range. The coastal and citrus side runs bright, breezy, and seasonal. The floral register goes deeper, night-blooming and opulent, the kind of white floral that holds a room without veering sweet. The woody-tobacco end is warm and grounding, and it gifts more easily than the name suggests. Eloro arrived at our West Hollywood shop recently, and we carry the full fourteen-candle lineup. At $48, a nine-ounce single-wick with a 50-hour burn, the price sits between Glasshouse candles and Diptyque candles, closer to Diptyque in design ambitions than in markup.
